Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you ask Tickets Japan to reserve dated, timed venue entry on your behalf, covering prices, fees, refunds and liability.
Draft. This document is a placeholder and has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Details in square brackets are still to be confirmed.
In short: you ask us to reserve a dated, timed ticket and we try to get it when the venue releases tickets. You pay in US dollars up front, and every price includes a non-refundable USD 2 processing fee. If we cannot get any of your requested dates and entry times, we refund the rest. We are an independent booking service, not the venue, and we cannot promise availability.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are a contract between you and [Company legal name] ("Tickets Japan", "we", "us"), registered in [Country/jurisdiction] under number [Company registration number], with its registered address at [Registered address]. They cover tickets-japan.com and every booking request you send us through it.
By sending a booking request you accept these terms, our Refund and Cancellation Policy and our Privacy Policy. If a translation of these terms differs from the English version, the English version applies.
2. What the service is and is not
Tickets Japan is an independent travel booking service. You tell us the venue, the dates and entry times you want, and who is coming. When the venue releases tickets, our team attempts to reserve that dated, timed entry on your behalf through the venue's official ticketing channel.
We are not the venue. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the Ghibli Museum, Studio Ghibli or Museo d'Arte Ghibli, or by any other venue we list.
We do not guarantee that a ticket will be available. What you pay for is our attempt to reserve your requested dates and entry times. We do not resell tickets and we do not hold a stock of them.
3. How a request works
- You choose a venue, dates and entry times in order of preference, and the number and age band of each visitor.
- You pay the listed price for each visitor in US dollars.
- On the venue's release day we attempt to reserve your first choice, then each backup in turn.
- We email you the result within [timing] of the release.
Checkout is not yet open, so for now no request is accepted and no payment is taken.
4. Prices, taxes and fees
Prices are shown in US dollars, before any taxes that apply in your country. Each ticket price includes a non-refundable USD 2 processing fee. The price shown when you send your request is the one that applies to it. Any currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fees added by your bank are between you and your bank.
5. When a booking succeeds
If we secure a ticket for any of your requested dates and entry times, the booking is complete and the full price is kept. We email your ticket details to the address on your request. [Delivery mechanics to be confirmed]
The ticket is dated and timed. The venue's rules apply to it, including entry within an hour of the entry time, possible identification checks against the visitor names, and a ban on resale.
6. When a booking fails
If we cannot secure any of the dates and entry times you asked for, we refund what you paid minus the USD 2 processing fee per ticket and any costs charged to us by [Payment processor]. A worked example and refund timing are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- give the correct full name and age band of every visitor, matching the identification they will carry
- give a working email address and phone number and keep them current until your visit
- follow the venue's rules on the day, including arrival within the entry window
- not resell, transfer or advertise a ticket we have secured for you
If the venue refuses or cancels a ticket because the details you gave us were wrong, or because its rules were broken, no refund is due.
8. Changes and cancellations
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms, sets out what you can change or cancel and what it costs.
9. Intellectual property and trade marks
The text, design and images on tickets-japan.com belong to [Company legal name] or our licensors and may not be copied for commercial use without our written permission.
Ghibli Museum, Studio Ghibli, Museo d'Arte Ghibli and the related names, characters and images are trade marks or copyright works of their owners. We use them only to identify the venue. Nothing on this site gives you or us any rights in them.
10. Our liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for the venue's acts or omissions, including closures, cancellations and refusals of entry, or for anything outside our reasonable control, such as a failure of the venue's ticketing system on release day.
Our total liability to you in connection with any request is limited to [Liability cap]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Country/jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [Country/jurisdiction]. Any right you have under your home country's consumer law to bring a claim there is not affected.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply to requests sent after the change, not to requests already accepted.
