Cookie Notice
What tickets-japan.com stores in your browser today, which is a theme preference and a language cookie, why it is stored, and how to clear or block it.
Draft. This document is a placeholder and has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. Details in square brackets are still to be confirmed.
In short: tickets-japan.com sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. We store your light or dark theme choice in your browser, and if you switch language we set one small cookie so the site opens in that language next time. That is the whole list.
1. Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage is a similar space in your browser that the website can read but that is never sent to our servers. Both stay on your device, under your control. This notice lists everything tickets-japan.com puts in either place and explains why.
2. What we store today
| Name | Where | Set when | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Local storage | You choose light or dark mode with the toggle at the bottom of the page | Keeps the site in the theme you picked. If you never touch the toggle, nothing is stored. | Until you clear browser storage |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Cookie | You switch to a language other than the one the site detected | Remembers your language (English, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese) | Browser session [To be confirmed] |
The theme entry holds one word, light or dark. The language cookie holds only a language code such as fr or zh-Hant. Both exist only to do what you asked, and neither identifies you or follows you to other sites.
When checkout opens, [Payment processor] may set its own cookies on its payment pages to prevent fraud. Those are governed by its cookie policy, which we will link from here at that time.
3. What we do not do
- No advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking or social-media pixels.
- No analytics. We do not currently measure visits with any analytics tool. [Analytics provider, if added later] If we add one, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Our server logs record your IP address and the pages you request, for security and troubleshooting. That is covered by our Privacy Policy, not by cookies.
4. How to control what is stored
To remove the theme preference, clear the site's data in your browser settings. To remove the language cookie, clear cookies for tickets-japan.com or close your browser. Choosing a different language in the language switcher replaces the cookie rather than adding a second one.
You can also set your browser to block cookies for this site altogether. The site keeps working, but it will not remember your language, so you may need to pick it again on each visit. Browser makers publish instructions for managing cookies and site data under names such as "Clear browsing data" or "Manage website data".
5. Changes to this notice
If we add anything to the table above, or change how long an entry lasts, we update this notice and the date at the top of the page before the change goes live.
6. Contact
Questions about cookies, browser storage or anything else in this notice: [Data protection contact] or hello@tickets-japan.com.
